My particular interests are alchemy, transmutation, subversion, and rebellion as means of self-liberation and self-discovery. I am examining the genealogy of punk poetics in its timeless reading, its references and inspiration, the heritage of rebellion, the disenchanted decoding of reality, and the interdisciplinarity and deep time relations between art and punk. My research focuses on my three home cities: Paris, Berlin, and Warsaw. It explores the connections between punk artists from these three scenes and their interwoven, sometimes fantasized or even non-existent relationships, and their interest in nihilism, poetics, authenticity, and rebellion. I am examining these connections and topics through oral history, artistic research, and a kaleidoscopic collection of punk artefacts. Along my travels into these three subcultures, I gathered a significant number of lost or forgotten interviews, images, sounds, and movies. I am now editing these pieces to create a wild experimental film collage, which should be a sort of journey in space and time through motifs, conversation pieces, subversive iconographies, poetry, and music. Lullaby for a Witch is a fragment of this work, but also an autonomous experiment on its own. It thematises punk women, heretics and witches in a dark kaleidoscopic fairy tale, with historical sounds and films. “We are thieves. We get away with loot from the most beautiful or the most scary or the most spectacular places that you can ever find. Just hit and run, and get away with film.” Werner Herzog
